Growing up as a modern nomad, I have existed without a country to call my own, without a grounded culture or an attachment to traditions. My work deals with experiences of a physically untethered upbringing: from unceasing self-reinvention to a nostalgic desire for something novel. I paint undefined spaces, spiritual narratives, and ceremonies of transition that are removed from their context. In these places that transcend material borders, I feel most at home.
