In my work I’m interested in the moment of self-alienation created by glimpsing one's own reflection. Growing up without knowing my biological father, I questioned whether facets of my identity were my own or merely genetics surfacing from somebody I never knew. Through my work I aim to confront the viewer with their own reflection within the canvas, blurring the boundaries between observer and observed.
