Within my work I recount my early exposure to intense themes, through family outings, to true crime locations, film noir, and gruesome stories from my photojournalist grandfather. Inspired by my love of film noir, I use abstract methods of storytelling to weave curiosity and familiarity into my work, exploring the comfort and excitement found in turmoil. Through the personification of spaces and objects, I approach the inanimate as the silent narrator to my dramatized situations.
