I’m interested in the connection of humanity. We’re seemingly randomly placed together, but ultimately our paths cross and are interwoven in the intentional design of our lives. By referencing old images of strangers or family, from before I knew them, living their everyday lives, I aim to capture the way one can feel a connection to a person or moment they’ve never experienced. This painting is of my grandmother, Mahlia, and her brothers as children.
